The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated today as World Blood Donor Day. It’s a day created to highlight the need for safe blood and to thank those who have given the gift of life and donated blood in the past. This year’s slogan is “Donating blood is an act of solidarity. Join the effort and save lives!” The need for blood is constant and it is especially critical now due to the worst blood shortage in over a decade.
