Happy Summer Solstice. But first, let me take a selfie!

06-21-2022

Today is the Summer Solstice which marks the first day of Summer and is the longest day of the year. It’s still only 24 hours long like every other day, but it does have the longest period of sunlight hours. A perfect time to “make hay while the sun shines”!

Did you know that the sun actually sets more slowly around the time of the solstice? It takes longer to set below the horizon due to the angle of the setting sun. Regardless of the reason, it gives you more time to enjoy a beautiful sunset and to capture the perfect selfie. That’s great timing because today is also National Selfie Day! Say cheese!
