Press Release: CBG Donates $15,000 to Brotherhood Crusade

05-04-2021

PASADENA, CA – Pasadena-based Community Builders Group (CBG) announced today that its non-profit organization, the SeaFlo Foundation, awarded Brotherhood Crusade a $15,000 donation to assist with its ongoing efforts in the community. The unrestricted donation comes at an important time for Brotherhood Crusade as it balances community efforts around COVID-19, vaccine education, its sports programs and as children return to school

“Brotherhood Crusade has played an important role in the lives of my family for years, starting with my children’s involvement in their Pasadena Sports League programs that they’ve run for many years,” said Joe Seager, co-founder of CBG and founding member of SeaFlo. “They are an impressive organization that does important work in the community, particularly as it relates to improving the quality of life and meeting the unmet needs of low-income, underserved, under-represented and disenfranchised individuals.”

“Community Builders Group and the SeaFlo Foundation are exemplary organizations that help build and strengthen communities through their affordable housing efforts – projects that play an important role in revitalizing traditionally under-served neighborhoods,” added Charisse Bremond-Weaver, President and CEO of Brotherhood Crusade. We are fortunate that CBG and SeaFlo selected us as a donation recipient. Given everything that’s impacted our community in the past year – COVID 19, high unemployment, structural racism and homelessness – these funds couldn’t come at a better time.”

The Brotherhood Crusade will use the unrestricted grant to provide students with Chrome tablets, hotspots, school supplies and backpacks.

“We’re honored to work in partnership with the Brotherhood Crusade,” concluded Christian Hart, co-founder of CBG. “We look forward to a long and beneficial partnership with Brotherhood Crusade as we work to have a positive impact on the lives of LA area residents.”
